Roma Rights Monitoring
This project has been started in the year 2007 for the pilot period of ten months supported by the Open Society Institute, Human Rights and Governance Grant Program.  Project aim is to establish sustainable model for monitoring and legal defense of minority human rights. Project focuses on providing of knowledge and professional assistance to local Roma community and local Roma leaders to empower them in defending their minority rights. Roma community equal participation in the decision making process / UN OHCHR Workshop
Our organization works closely with local Roma community, Municipality administration and the Municipal Council in empowerment local Roma community members to participate equally in the decision making process.  Since the democratic changes start in the country, number of elected Roma Parliamentary Members have varied from three to one, several international reports and national surveys show us that Roma feels their interests underrepresented in the high levels of the Governmental administration. Despite these shortcomings on the governmental level, Roma participation on the Municipality level had arisen significantly. Cooperation with local directorates of State Social Agency and State Labour Agency
Based on the experience gained implementing Roma rights monitoring project in 2008 – 2009 that the local Roma facing many obstacles approaching employees  of State Social Agency /SSA/and State Labour Agency /SLA/and that in many cases those agencies’ employees violates minority human rights; bearing in mind the fact that due to the cases specifics and the will of the victims cases to be redressed  urgently, most efficient approaches to pursue redress for  those violations to be reconciliation and administrative litigation approaches, NGO Roma Together decides  further improving  the monitoring processes to establish mechanism for mutual cooperation between the organization and the local department Directors of those State agencies. Roma community mediators
This programme is based on the existing pressing needs of the local Roma communities. In the period of economic and political transition, a large part of Bulgarian society is affected but none more so than the Roma. The Roma in Bulgaria are disproportionately affected. The Roma couldn’t compete with others basically on account of their low level of education and discrimination practiced against them. Reports tell us that Roma will be denied a job where both Roman and non-Roma apply for it. Thus Roma became dependent on the social welfare system and start immigrating in search of better job opportunities.
